Larouche wins Canada Cup qualifier!
Marie-France Larouche, Nancy Belanger, Joelle Sabourin and Annie Lemay had a 6-4 victory against Amber Holland from Regina, on December 15, in the final of the John Shea Canada Cup Qualifier at the Rideau Curling Club in Ottawa. Larouche lost just once over the weekend, and her team has won five of six bonspiels it has entered this season. They made it to the final of the other one.
"Our goal is to win our provincials - maybe more - but first to win the provincials," Larouche said after Monday night's victory, which gave her team 36 Canadian Team Ranking System points, which go toward qualifying for the pre-Olympic trials, plus a cheque for $12,000 (The Ottawa Citizen).
